I did architecture for my last project. I like the first photo because of the color contrast in it. I like the second one because of the roman style architecture. I like how the photos didn't need any editing and they were just point and shoot.
These photos are for my experimental project. I came up with these ideas just out of the blue. The egg one was just a double exposure that I thought would look cool, and it is sort of a pun. Eggs sunny side up. The second one I thought would be a good representation of growing older with the type and size of shoes people wear as they age also change. The lighting on both of them was alright but i do believe it could have been better, but over all I was very pleased with how this project turned out.
These two photos are my attempt at night photography. I tried to use the lights as a contrast from the darkness of the night. The biggest problem I had was keeping my camera steady while the shutter closed so it could take it the light. Overall I was happy with how these turned out.
At the St. Louis Cardinals stadium I encountered this man by the hall of fame baseball players. I used the rule of thirds to put him in the bottom left of the frame. I chose this picture because I thought he was a great subject. Plus he has the look as if he used to watch these players back when he was a kid, and is coming to visit them. In St. Louis where is was at this time their is a statue of St. Louis native and musician Chuck Barry. When I was there he had passed away the week before, and as you can see his statue was decorated with different gifts. I thought this was a great picture cause while everything on his statue is playful and happy, you can feel the sadness behind his death. The guitarist we passed by while on the streets in St. Louis was a great photo opportunity. I put him on the right side of the frame. I particularly like his expression as he sings his song. I was really proud of how this photo turned out. The black and white is to dull down his money back which is a variety of bright colors which take away from the guitarist. I thought this was a very interesting sign that I found, so I decided to use it for the project. I used black and white and masked the sign out so that it popped out. I got a very Big Brother vibe from this if you have read the book 1984. I also cropped out my brothers arm from the left of the picture so it didn't distract. This picture of the "bike man" was while driving in Monticello. I was in the passenger seat when I saw this fellow riding his bike. I decided it would be a nice picture so I took it and I thought it turned out alright. I didn't edit this photo at all because I didn't think there was anything I could do to make it better. This is the outside of a flower shop. I decided to take this picture cause of the color it shows. The yellow ladder and the yellow building work together so well. I got rid of a shadow of a car in the bottom right and I think that made the picture better. I also adjusted the lighting cause before it looked a little washed out.
I like these photos a decent amount. I had trouble coming up with ideas for this project, so it was tough to take pictures. I like the painting one the best, but I think the lighting could be a lot better. Over all I think that I had more potential with this project. The hardest part was just coming up with the ideas.
